24 August 2010, Clairefontaine. The Grand Steeple de la ville de Deauville Chase (Listed-4yo+, 4,500m) was won by Oxo des Pres (AQPS–April Night). This win brings the total prize money won by him during his career to more than €220,000.
19 August 2010, Le Lion-d’Angers. In the Prix Pierre Peltier U Master – Grand Steeple-Chase des AQPS (AQPS – 4yos – 4,000m) the experienced Sous-Officier (AQPS- Alberto Giacometi) caught Safari Rochelais (AQPS-Al Namix) on the line. Placed on multiple occasions at Auteuil and a recent winner at Dieppe, the winner is out of Graine de Beauté (Conquistador), who was bred in Corsica.
17 August 2010, Clairefontaine. The Prix Laverock - Syndicat des Eleveurs du Centre-Est Chase (3yos-3,700m) was won easily by Terisandre du Bosc (AQPS–Voix du Nord), who was stepping up in category after having won a claimer over hurdles. Tremblay (AQPS – Shaanmer) took a decent third place.
15 August 2010, Vichy. The Prix Antoine de Vazelhes – Criterium du Centre (Flat – AQPS – 3yos – 2,400m) went to Théramene (AQPS - April Night) who beat Troubadour d’Ainay (AQPS - Blushing Flame) and Terreur (AQPS - Raintrap). It was a second success for the winner in as many races. He is the first offspring out of Ismenie (AQPS - Abdonski), a talented cross country mare, who is a daughter of the very good Sirta (AQPS - Le Pontet, earnings of more than €200,000) who also bred Harielle II (AQPS – Un Numide).
13 August 2010, Clairefontaine. The Prix des Buveurs d’Air (Flat – AQPS – 4 and 5yos – 2,400m) was won easily by Roseau de Loire (AQPS – Smadoun). Réunion à Brion (AQPS – Dark Moondancer) made up ground on the last bend to sit in second position and but couldn’t hold on right to the line against the strong attack of Royal d’Arc (AQPS – Le Triton). Roseau de Loire came here off an easy win at Vichy and has always been one of the best of his generation in the Mid East. His dam, Gribiche (Montorselli), was also trained by Eric Vagne for whom she won the Prix Chloris.
Sunday July 18th 2010. First AQPS winner for sire Epalo - Tous Ensemble (AQPS-Epalo), bred by the Haras de Saint-Voir, did not mess up on his debut in competition when winning the €18,000 Prix des Malavaux (3yo AQPS horses – 2,000m). “I told his jockey not to use the whip”, confided Nicolas de Lageneste, his breeder. “He only went into training a few weeks ago and has not had a lot of work, but he has showed quality in the mornings. We are pleased as he is one of the first crop of Epalo, a stallion who stands at our stud. Tous Ensemble should now head for the Critérium du Centre, back here on the 15th August over 2,400m.”
Three quarters of a length behind in third place was Terreur (Raintrap), with Taoiri (Khalkevi) a further 2 lengths behind in third place, both of which had already run.
Tuesday 13th July 2010, Le Lion d’Angers. (Paris-Turf.com) The first important race for the 3 year old generation of AQPS horses was the € Prix de l'Isle-Briand (Flat – 3yo AQPS horses–2,300m). Toner d'Oudairies (AQPS–Polish Summer) who produced an impressive performance on his debut at Rostrenen, was supplemented for this race. “He could have run the day before in a maiden at Granville, which seemed an easier race than this one. He won easily though was easing up once he hit the front”, commented owner breeder Hervé Paimblanc. One length behind in second place was Tante Sissi (AQPS–Lesotho) with Taguy Star (Aqps – Visionnary) a further two lengths behind in third.

Lot 39 : 2yo Gelding by Astarabad ex. Miss Academy (AQPS–Vidéo Rock) Jehan Bertran de Balanda went to €160,000 for this gelding. “It is a very good line. I had his grandmother, Mademoiselle Wo, who produced Mister No and Miss Palma, the dam of Sister Palma who I also trained. I saw this horse and suggested him to Alan Potts. I am very happy to have bought him.” Alan Potts was very active last week at Fairyhouse, when he notably bought a son of Presenting for €320,000.
The opinion of Anthony Bromley, Highflyer Bloodstock (top buyer) Anthony Bromley bought five stores for a total of €118,000. These included lot number 25, a 3 year old gelding by Martaline out of Keep Well, for €45,000. “He will go into training with Nicky Henderson, in England. For me, he was the best 3 year old store. He is by Martaline, a stallion that is very here in France and that the English like a lot too. His dam was a good AQPS flat horse and won the Prix Chloris”.
Tuesday 29th June 2010, Auteuil. The €50,000 Prix Al Capone II Chase (4yos AQPS horses–3,700m) saw Still Loving You (AQPS- Poliglote) beat Sir Dream (AQPS – Dream Well) by three quarters of a length, with Sam Light (AQPS – Fragrant Mix) a further 6 lengths behind in third place. Still Loving You won two hurdle races last summer at Clairefontaine.
Thursday 24th June 2010, Auteuil. Saccageur (AQPS–Discover d’Auteuil) took a magnificent second place, when beaten only a neck in the €150,000 Prix la Perichole Chase (4yos–4,100m Gr.3). He has now achieved a total of five wins, three places and earnings of €100,000.
Rubis d’Albain (AQPS–Ragmar) won the €50,000 Prix du Bearn Chase (5yos–4,100m) by an impressive 8 lengths. He came here of an equally impressive 10 length win over fences 15 days earlier over the same track in the Prix de Brissac. His previous performances include his first start on the flat as a 3 year old followed by two places over hurdles as a 4 year old.
The €46,000 Prix Pharaon Hurdle (4yos–3,600m) featured a 6 length win by Sourire Aux Lèves (AQPS–Robin des Champs). Seabreeze d’Ho (Enrique) took second place while back in third place was Sarisland (Aqps–Martaline), who was having his first start at Auteuil. Sourire aux Lèvres is out of Ability, the excellent broodmare who has produced the likes of Rendons Grace (AQPS–Video Rock), Nous Voilà (AQPS–Video Rock) and Homme du Jour (AQPS–Video Rock).
