Christophe Pieux received a fifteen day suspension at Enghien on Thursday after being deemed by the stewards to be responsible for the fall of Tryanon on the flat in the Prix de Sospel. “I had to tighten up involuntarily. It’s my fault, I didn’t see anything. The important thing is that Cyriaque Santerne (the jockey concerned) is okay”, explained the top jockey. As the suspension takes effect 14 days after the incident, meaning Christophe will be on the sidelines until the 27th May inclusive, he will therefore be available for the Grand Steeple on May 30th.
