Wednesday 24th March 2010, Enghien. Septland (AQ-Agent Bleu) achieved a second consecutive victory when she romped home in the €44,000 Prix John Cunnington (4yo Females-3,500m) despite some minor errors in her jumping. Winning trainer, Philippe Peltier, said afterwards: “Today was a good opportunity for her so I ran her once more over hurdles. Her future entries will be in chases here at Enghien before heading to Auteuil.” Jockey David Cottin added; “"Despite some small mistakes she free wheeledScoop_043628_007 round the final bend. Once she was in front I was able to ride her as I wanted.”

Prise de Risque (Take Risks) finished back in second place on her first run back. The representative of Tony Clout had her first run over fences at the end of last year when finishing third here at Enghien. She is undoubtedly a promising filly who had the misfortune of encountering a very talented opponent in Septland.

Bred by Thierry Cyprès, Septland is very well bred. This AQPS is out of Jubyland (Kadalko) who is a sister of the dam of Cumberland (Cyborg) and Embiez (Lute Antique), both winners of the Prix Maurice Gillois (Gr1). Philippe Peltier also trains the older sister of Septland, Réunion (Fragrant Mix), wha has been running over fences since last May.

Nouba – Promising start to season for Cottin

Chuchoteuse (Astarabad) provided David Cottin with a treble when winning the €50,000 Prix La Nouba (4&5yo Females-3,400m) and in doing so put last year’s champion jockey straight to the top of this year’s table. Despite a mistake at the open ditch Chuchoteuse picked up nicely on the flat to overtake Formosa Joana Has

(Turgeon), who eventually finished 8 lengths behind in second place, and the leader Zandalee (Trempolino). Si St Eloi was pulled up on the last bend after multiple mistakes. Winning trainer

Laurent Postic confirmed: "She made a big mistake on the bend, but despite that she dominated throughout the race. She should continue over fences now.”

Vanoise – Senechal snaps up Grand Charly

At the head of affairs from the outset, Totti (Roli Abi) fell at the third hurdle in the €22,000 Prix de la Vanoise (Claimer-3yoMales-3,100m) bringing down Auteuil Longchamp(Discover d’Auteuil) and the favourite El Milagro(Leadership). Grand Charly(Le Triton) profited from this incident and made his move up the rail alongside Tremblay(Shaanmer). In the end it was the representative of Didier Guillemin, Grand Charly, who crossed the line alone in front beating Casalpusterlango by 8 lengths with Our Prince a further 15 lengths back in third. Grand Charly achieved his first victory on only his fourth career start and second over hurdles. He was claimed by Jean-Paul Senechal after Wednesday’s victory for €27,111. He is out of Sherkane (Lesotho), a winner on the flat at Lyon la Soie but unlucky on her only start over hurdles.
