Tuesday 9th February 2010, Pau. (www.leblogdeparisturf.com) Keeping Gold (Goldneyev) shone when winning the €32,000 Prix de l'Adour Chase (4yos-3,900m) which was run at a fast pace, despite the heavy ground. The Prix Antoine de Palaminy, which is run at the end of the meeting on the 21st of February, is an important Listed race, however Keeping Gold and Marvaline (Martaline), the first two home in the Prix de l'Adour, will most likely not participate: "They went very fast in front, too fast perhaps”, reported Guy Cherel, trainer of the winner Keeping Gold. “She is a mare with a big action, who only has one pace, and it was the leaders who came back to her. She is really made for Auteuil. She will not run in the Palaminy but will instead go straight for the Butte Mortemart." Keeping Gold, bred by Guy Cherel, is out of Kenza du Charmil who he also trained.
Philippe de Watrigant – Mister Camilau successful once again
The regularity of Mister Camilau is amazing. The son of Sagacity, trained by Anna Imaz-Ceca and ridden by Brice Raballand, was courageous once again when fighting off the strong finish of Carmen's Boy (One Cool Cat), in the €20,000 Prix Philippe de Watrigant (3yos-1,900m Fibresand). The leader and favourite Dianel's Victory (Vettori) had to be content with third place. Mister Camilau was bought for €22,000 at the Arqana Yearling Sales, in October 2008.
