The card on the 2nd of January at Pau featured the Prix Alfred Torrance, a race restricted to 4 year old AQPS horses having their first starts over hurdles, which on this occasion was run in two divisions due to the large number of runners. The winners of both these divisions, Soldatino (Graveron) and Sir du Béarn (Passing Sale), have recently passed vet inspections before they will be exported to England to continue their careers across the Channel. Word has it that they will both be joining the yard of a certain Paul Nicholls, alongside other ex-French horses such as Kauto Star and Master Minded.
