Monday 11th January 2010, Pau. (www.leblogdeparisturf.com) Won by the classy Takeroc last year (since then exported across the Channel where he has been Gr1 placed), the €34,000 Prix Guillaume de Pracomtal Chase (5yos-3,900m) was won by the outsider Rochmi du Mont (Rochesson), ridden by David Cottin for his father Philippe. The 5 year old was never really worried in the final stage on what was only his 8th start. He only ran twice in 2009, in January and mid December.

The winner was bred by Didier Pointeau. His dam is a half sister of the unfortunate Trésor du Mont (En Calcat), who was fatally injured at Pau after wins in the Prix Congress and Roger de Minvielle.

Quoquo de Chalon (AQPS - Robin des Champs) was the winner of the €26,000 Prix Maurice Fagalde (cross-country – 6yos – 4,100m). He was a winner on his debut in this discipline at the start of the meeting. José-Bruno Gonzalez-Sanchez, who has ridden him on each of his 3 starts this winter, commented: "He is delicate and still has a lot to learn. But on what he has done today he has the right to run in the Grand Cross."
Bred by Bernard Pol and Bernard Touillon, Quoquo de Chalon is a brother of the good Natan (AQPS - Blushing Flame), winner of the Grand Handicap de la Maine and the Prix d'Estruval, when beating Osana

Peyrehorade - Kriss William wins weakened race

After the withdrawal of Stardom and Souy Beroy, there were only 6 runners at the start in the €36,000 Prix de Peyrehorade Chase (4yos-3,900m), won last year by a certain Rubi Ball. Kriss William (Califet) easily dominated this race which often serves as a prep race for the Prix Antoine de Palaminy (L.). Guy Cherel, trainer of the winner, analysed afterwards: "He didn’t have much to beat after Stardom was withdrawn. He has a lot of quality, having run against good horses at Auteuil. He will be one to follow this spring at Auteuil. We will see whether we will run him in the Prix Antoine de Palaminy.
Voudevolta Has (Lost World) confirmed his good start in this discipline when finishing second in front of Sunday Madrik (Esprit du Nord).
Kriss William was bred by Christophe Tanguy. He is for the moment the best product of his dam, Pretty William (Bojador), mediocre filly on the flat.
