Sunday 17th October 2010, Longchamp (www.jourdegalop.com) Prairie Star (Peintre Célèbre) was the one everyone was waiting to see in the €80,000 Prix de Condé (Gr3 – 2yos – 1800m) and Élie Lellouche’s charge did not disappoint. He came upsides the leader, Kreem (Hurricane Run), with ease in the straight and went onto win by without any encouragement from his jockey’s whip. This race was an important lesson for him ahead of his 3 year old career as he learnt to be held up and patient whereas in his first three starts he was always out in front. He may now go for the Critérium de Saint-Cloud (Gr1, 13/11). Bubble Chic (Chichicastenango) came here from having been beaten by Kreem in the Prix Nino at Saint-Cloud. These two colts were supplemented for this Prix de Condé. This time Bubble Chic finished ahead of André Fabre’s charge, taking second place a neck behind the winner with Kreem a further nose behind in third.
Bred by Dayton Investments, Prairie Star is out of Prairie Runner (Arazi), making him a half brother to Prairie Flower (Zieten), who made a winning debut before finishing second in the Prix Michel Houyvet (L) at Deauville.
Like Cirrus des Aigles (Even Top) last year, Prince Bishop (Dubawi) managed to achieve the "Prix du Prince d’Orange (Gr3)- €130,000 Prix du Conseil de Paris (Gr2 – 3yo+ - 2400m)". In progression since the autumn, André Fabre’s charge easily got the bettter of Cirrus des Aigles to win by a short neck.
Prince Bishop benefitted from a good run on the heels of Timos (Sholokhov) and took the lead in the straight despite hanging slightly in the finish. Shimraan (Rainbow Quest) finished a further 3 lengths behind in third place. Cirrus des Aigles is still a possibility for either the Japan Cup oor the Hong Kong Cup.
Bred by Thurso Limited, Prince Bishop is out of North East Bay (Prospect Bay), a mare who has already produced three winners. She is a sister to Hold to Ransom (Red Ransom), who won the Sandringham Stakes (L) and second place in the Pretty Polly Stakes (L) at Newmarket.

The €58,000 Prix Europe 1 (3yo+ Females – 2100m) was won by the Aga Khan filly Diyaraka (Clodovil) in the hands of stable jockey Christophe Lemaire. A neck behind in second place was Garmerita (Poliglote)
with Driven Snow (Linamix) a further three quarters of a length back in third.
This was a second success for the Mikel Delzangles trained filly who won on her last start over 2400m at Saint Cloud. She also has two second places to her name, both over 2100m.
Diyaraka is out of Diamonaka (Akarad) who won once, from five starts, over 2100m at Evry before finishing second in a Group 3 and Group 2. She is also the dam of Diamond Green (Green Desert), a Group 3 winner and placed in Group 1 and 2 races on multiple occasions.
