Saturday 9th October 2010 Maisons Laffitte (www.jourdegalop.com) Split Trois (Dubawi) was an impressive winner on her first start at Chantilly and she followed up that performance with a short head win here in the €80,000 Prix Éclipse (Gr3 – 2yos – 1200m) which leads to the Critérium de Maisons-Laffitte (Gr2, 1/11). Sitting in last place she accelerated 200 metres from the finish to catch Captain Chop (Indian Rocket) on the line. Captain Chop took second place a head in front ofSpirit of Battle (Elusive Quality).
Bred on behalf of Nicholas Hughes at the Haras des Monceaux, Split Trois is out of Auenpearl (Zafonic) who ran eight times and won twice. Split Trois was purchased by Meridian International in October 2009 for €33,000.
The €55,000 Prix Le Fabuleux (L – 3yos – 1800m) was won by Royal Revival (King’s Best) who was previously fourth in the Prix Greffulhe (Gr2) on his first run back. Held up on the heels of Rysckly (Slickly), Royal Revival accelerated progressively up the centre of the track when asked for an effort by Pierre-Charles Boudot and held off the attack from Rysckly to beat him by a length.
Two and a half lengths back in third place, the Saeed bin Suroor trained Godolphin representative, Atlantis Star (Cape Cross), ran well without ever being a threat.
Bred by Newsells Park Stud, Royal Revival is a son of Holy Nola (Silver Deputy), who won 5 of her 15 starts. She has also produced Preachinatthebar (Silver Charm) three time Group winner in the States, and Nolas Lolly (Lomitas) Group 3 placed in Germany. Royal Revival was purchased for €280,000 by John Ferguson at the Arqana Yearling Sales in August 2008.
FABULEUX

The €58,000 Prix du Rey (3yo+ - 1200m) was won by the Aga Khan representative Marakashi (Lando) in the hands of stable jockey Christophe Lemaire. Prinzde Glas (Verglas) finished a head behind in second with Wangokaye (Okawango) a further length and a half behind in third place.
This was a first win for Marakashi who has twice finished placed over 1600m. He is out of Marque Royale (Royal Academy) who was a Listed winner over 1600m and who has also produced Sceptre Rouge (Red Ransom). Marque Royale currently has a yearling colt by Galileo and a colt foal by Medicean.
