Thursday 24^th September 2010, Maisons Laffitte (www.jourdegalop.com) Akarlina (Martaline) was successful on her first attempt at Group level in the €80,000 La Coupe de Maisons Laffitte (Gr3 – 3yo+ - 2000m). Quickly to the head of affairs, she never let another horse pass her and crossed the line 2 lengths ahead of her nearest rival Reggane (Red Ransom). Akarlina was bred at Haras de la Faisanderie and is out of Akaralda. The owners also have three sisters to Akarlina, a 3 year old by Saint des Saints in training with David Windrif, a 2 year old by Astarabad with Nicolas Clément and a yearling by Robin des Prés. Akaralda is currently in foal to Montmartre.
