Tuesday 21st September 2010, Maisons Laffitte (www.jourdegalop.com) Action Chope (Muhaymin) was the surprise winner of the €55,000 Prix Saraca (L-2yos-1300m). Didier Guillemin’s charge achieved the biggest success of her career while at the same time acquiring black type. Quickly away at the start, Action Chope settled immediately in behind the leader. She benefited from an excellent run before putting her speed to good use to catch the favourite Yarubo (Muhtathir) and win by a short neck. Andre Fabre’s Spirit of Battle (Elusive Quality) finished a further short head behind in third place.

Bred by Alain Chopard at the Haras des Faunes, Action Chope is out of Free Track (Solid Illusion) who is also the dam of Chopouest (Indian Rocket) her first foal who won his first three starts before failing to win in Group company. Free Track is currently in foal to Deportivo (Night Shift), and should return to be covered by Muhaymin next year. Action Chope has earned a wild card for the Arqana Arc Sale to be held on Arc weekend.

Fariman (Invincible Spirit) opened his record on his second start in the €24,000 Prix Pharsale (2yo Maiden-1600m). The Aga Khan’s representative benefited from a good draw and sat on the rail in the leading group.  A little keen, he was almost leading when turning into the straight and kept going to the line to win by two and a half lengths. Gypsy Highway (High Chaparral) was a courageous second with Riqa (Dubawi) a further 3 lengths behind in third place.

Fariman is entered in the Middle Park Stakes (Gr1) over 1,200m at Ascot on October 1st and also in the Qatar Prix Jean-Luc Lagardère (Gr1) over a mile two days later.

Fariman (Invincible Spirit) is the first foal out of Fraloga (Grand Lodge), who finished third in the Prix Marcel Boussac (Gr1) behind Divine Proportions (Kingmambo). She also took second place in the Prix Malleret (Gr2) and the Prix Chaudenay (Gr2).
