Monday 2nd August 2010, Clairefontaine. (www.jourdegalop.com) “He is a good horse”, announced Christophe Soumillon to the connections of Temps au Temps (Invincible Spirit) after riding him to success in the €24,000 Prix Amirauté Golf (2yo Males Maiden-1,400m). He had just cause in doing so as his mount had just won easily by a total of 4 lengths. “He won easily and as with a lot of horses his first run came as a shock to him”, explained winning trainer Mikel Delzangles. “It was also a good bunch and he still has some growing to do.” A little keen early on, Temps au Temps sat on the heels of Strecker (Sky Mesa). With only a few slaps down the shoulder as encouragement he kicked clear from his rivals 200 metres from the line.

Bred by Old Carhue Stud, Temps au Temps is out of Noahs Ark (Charnwood Forest) who was placed third in the Breeders’ Cup Sprint (Gr1) and second in the Kilboy Estate Stakes (L).

Temps au Temps was sold for €370,000 at Arqana’s August Yearling Sale last year when consigned by Grove Stud (click here for catalogue page).

Stratford on Avon – Doo Lang springs surprise

Joseph Allen had two runners in the €24,000 Prix Stratford-on-Avon (2yo Fillies Maiden-1,400m): Doo Lang (Pulpit) and Suede Shoe (Pulpit). The latter, ridden by Christophe Soumillon, was the more favoured of the two beforehand. Unfortunately she was interfered with by Miss Fifty (Whipper), and Suede Shoe could only manage fifth place. However it was her stable mate Doo Lang

, who won by half a length from Realisatrice (Numerous), with Miss Fifty eventually finishing a further neck behind in third.

Bred by her owner, Doo Lang is a sister of War Officer (Grand Slam), renamed Rock’n Typhoon, third in the Prix Eclipse (Gr3) and winner of the Prix Montenica and Prix Sigy (Ls), and of Amagansett (Fusaichi Pegasus). The dam of Doo Lang, Wonder Woman (Storm Cat) won twice in her racing career.

This was a second win for Renard after a previous win in January of last year over hurdles.

Renard is out of Kirmelia (SF-Chamberlin), who ran only once, and is her first progeny and the only one to have appeared on a racetrack. She also has a 4 year old colt, Sacre Renard (AQ-Michel Georges) and a 3 year old filly Toupou du Renard (AQ-Michel Georges).

Terisandre du Bosc (AQ-Voix du Nord) won the €17,000 Prix des Héliotropes Hurdle (3yo Males-3,400m) by a total of 8 lengths. Tryanon (CS-Le Triton) took second place 4 lengths ahead of Tremblay (AQ-Shaanmer). This is Terisandre du Bosc third start and first success, after finishing unplaced on his first start and then being pulled up on his next run, all of which have been here at Clairefontaine since the start of July.
