Wednesday 24th February 2010, Cagnes-sur-Mer. (www.leblogdeparisturf.com) After a disappointing debut here on a very soft grass track, Red and White (Sinndar) excused himself by winning the € Prix de Miramar (3yos-2,000m Fibresand). “I am very happy for the colt”, announced Ioritz Mendizabal. “The boss decided to run him in blinkers today and they did the job. Before his first run he had worked well on the fibresand and we were confident, but he didn’t handle the soft ground.” Red and White ran so badly on the 25th of January that trainer Jean-Claude Rouget declared afterwards that his jockey should have pulled him up. Bred by François Bayrou and Francis Décourrière, Red and White is a brother of Golden Runner (Orpen), who won on the all weather at Cagnes and Deauville, but over 1,300 metres.
