According to an Hyperion report on the leading 2nd crop sires in Europe this season, French-based sires are doing extremely well. Befire Guineas weekend, the Haras du Logis's Country Reel was second behind the undisputed leader Dubawi. The 10yo Danzig stallion had produced 24 winners of 32 races, earning a combined £163,803. The Haras du Petit Tellier's Vespone (Llandaff) featured in tenth place (4 winners of four) while his neighbour Zafeen (Zafonic) was in 20th (9 winners of twelve). Other French sires cited in the table are Blackdoun (12th, with 4 winners of six), Russian Blue (18th with one winner of two) and Chineur (23rd with a single winner).
