The format of the sale has changed since last year - the catalogue is now evenly spread over three days, it is therefore difficult to draw a conclusion based on this single result. The average fell by 6% to 26,633 euros. However, in a catalogue that was not particularly selective, 77% of lots were sold, indicating a lot of activity.
According to Arqana, "57 different purchasers were identified, including UK investors, Irish, Spanish, and a large French representation. "
. Lot 100, a son of Montjeu presented by the Haras d'Etreham was the choice of English trainer Paul Cole, a regular at the sale in August but rarely seen here in October. This colt comes from the wonderful "Aga Khan" family of Darjina and Daryaba and made 105,000 euros.
. Lot 78, a filly by Dubai Destination from the always in demand consignment of Haras de la Louviere made 85,000 euros when knocked down to Broadhurst Agency. She is out of the Group placed Shifting Sands.
. Lot 68, also from Haras de la Louviere, made 65,000 euros purchased by Sylvain Vidal, on behalf of Gerard Augustin-Normand. The son of Verglas is the half-brother to Sorciere winner of the Prix Yacowlef (L.) and 2nd in the Prix de Cabourg, Gr.3.
. Lot 8, presented by Haras de Fresnay-le-Buffard,started proceedings with a bang when making 65.000 euros for Bertrand Le Metayer Bloodstock. This filly by Medicean is a granddaughter of the illustrious Whakilyric, mother of Gr1 winners and stallions Hernando and Johann Quatz.
The 30 national bred yearlings that were scattered throughout the first session showed particularly good results.
. Lot 23, a son of Martaline was bought for 62,000 euros by Fretless Ltd. Presented by Haras des Eclos, he is out of the good Vie de Reine, Gr3 winner at Auteuil.
. Lot 77, a colt from the first production of Gentlewave and presented by Haras du Taillis, went to George Mullins for 52.000 euros.
. Lot 69, first produce of the Prix Maurice Gillois (Gr.1) winner, Polivalente, by the young stallion Bonbon Rose was also awarded to Fretless Limited for the sum of 50,000 euros. This filly was presented by Haras d'Etreham.
