Due to be held on the eve of the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Saint Cloud, Arqana's Arc Sale features a total 65 horses of top quality or high potential. A mixture of horses are catalogued ranging from two year olds to older horses trained by a variety of trainers including Alain de Royer-Dupré, André Fabre, Jean-Claude Rouget, Freddy Head, Elie Lellouche, Bruno Grizzetti from Italy and Tom Dascombe in England to name just a few. A range of Listed and Group class horses are on offer including Pointilliste (Giant's Causeway), a half brother to Peintre Celebre, Pouvoir Absolu (Sadler's Wells) and Allybar (King's Best). For the first time Arqana are operating a "wild card" system where the lot numbers 10, 20, 30 and 40 will be left empty in the catalogue to be filled by horses closer to the date of the sale. ARQANA president Eric Hoyeau describes this initiative as a move to "to allow vendors to enter a horse whose sale has become timely, and buyers to acquire a lot that has become more desirable after the catalogue was published". The Arc Sale will commence at 6pm at Saint Cloud Racecourse on the 3rd of October.
