Tuesday Nancy Report - Synaptique back to hurdling with a bang PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 30 September 2009 14:47

Tuesday Sept 29 Placed third in the 2008 running of the Ferdinand Dufaure and unseen over jumps since late last year, the 5 year old Synaptique (Saint des Saints) dominated on his return to hurdling in the Prix Colonel Achon (3800m). The Jacques Détré representative took the lead from Puncho (Medaaly) at the penultimate hurdle and went on to an easy success. Saintenitouche (Saint des Saints) finished well in second to provide his sire with a 1-2.

"He won with authority but had the advantage of having raced several times on the flat this summer, noted Guillaume Macaire, trainer of the winner. I think I will keep him over hurdles until the end of the season, depending on the opportunities available to him."

Over the hurdles of the Prix des Cristalleries (3yo-3400m), the AQPS maiden Safari La Rochelle (Al Namix), a brother of the cross country champion Nuit Rochelaise (Dress Parade), dominated the fight. Garjado (Sholokov) also ran well for Patrice Quinton, who was represented by Puncho in the same race as Synaptic, who is trained by Guillaume Macaire.
On the flat, Lake Palace (Nayef) ran away with the final phase of the Prix Henri Dory (3yo-1950m). The Nicolas Clement charge had already won his first race in Nancy, in the November of his 2 year old career, but has since been unsuccessful in better company. She is a daughter of Lia (Desert King), twice second in Listed class for Nicolas Clement. Her second dam is also that of Lawman and Latice, sold in foal to Cape Cross for €50,000 at the Arqana sales in December 2008 in Deauville (Click here to read its catalogue page. Her brother by Dubawi is in training with Jean-Claude Rouget..
